It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

If you haven’t seen It’s Always sunny in Philadelphia yet, you need to.  The show is freaking hilarious.  Here’s a link to some torrents for you.  The show reminds me of Seinfeld.  Go watch it now.

Refractor

Tom was talking about the ‘Who wants to be a Superhero’ show on Scifi today.  I’ve seen it once, and thought it was kind of dumb.  I said that I could come up with a better, original superpower than all those people.

I came up with Refractor and his superpower is the ability to bend light.  Is there any superhero with that power?

Anyway, the ability to bend light is so useful.  First, there’s the whole being able to control brightness and everything.  Since he can bend light, ho can make himself invisible, or other people and objects invisible.  He can also create optical illusions.  You can think of all sorts of crazy things where bending light would be cool.

Someone (read: Josh) find out if there is/was a superhero with that power.  Also, let me know what you think of that power.

First Blu-Ray

082506_1725aYesterday we got the first Blu-Ray discs at work.  One disc, 25gb, 2x capable.  That would take a long ass time to burn.

I almost bought one just to be able to open it and see the disc.  Then I could return it and get my money back.  Oh, one disc cost $24.98.  Is that really worth it yet?  You would have to spend about $1000 on a burner, and another ~$20 per 25gb.  A DVD burner is ~$30 and $10 per 25gb.  That’s not even close.

I haven’t upgraded to a DVD burner, there’s no way I’d consider Blu-Ray yet.  Not to mention that they’re going to be as useful as laserdiscs.

Dear Nick

Who conned you into doing World Trade Center? Your IMDB resume is a listing of kick-ass movies.  Lord of War, Matchstick Men, Adaptation, Windtalkers, Gone in Sixty Seconds, 8mm, all rule more than words can describe.  Why on earth would you tarnish this beacon of movie greatness with a crappy, money grubbing, vacuum of a film?

Job gets crappy

Word at work is that one of the managers is being transferred to another store.  Since I’m not sure if it’s final or anything, I won’t disclose any specifics.  But, if its true, its going to suck a lot.  The manager is a great guy and a ton of fun.  Work without him is going to be much worse.  The person that replaces him won’t be nearly as cool or easy going.

Reformat

I started having weird issues with windows the other day.  I’d like to blame it on a program called IMG_0283Folder Size.  After I un-installed it explorer started going crazy on me and acting weird.  I couldn’t fix it easily, so I reinstalled windows last night around 11pm.  This time I left 15 gigs open for Ubuntu, which I may install since everyone creams their pants over it.  We’ll see.

It’s nice to have windows be super snappy again.
