In preparation for moving out, I’ve switched to the Mac full time. I’m trying to sell the desktop, so if you know anyone interested, please tell them. I bought a few things to make life easier though. First, a dual sata drive firewire800 enclosure. I put my 200gb and 250gb drives in there and now I have plenty of storage. Second a USB hub/card reader. I can’t live with only two USB ports, since I carry around three flash drives. Third, another gig or RAM. I think I may give parallels a try and if I do I want to have enough RAM for it. And finally an iMic. It’s an analog to USB sound converter. Since the laptop only has a line level input, my headset didn’t work with it. Now it works fine and sounds good. Plus I have extra inputs now to play with and using SoundSource it’s crazy easy to switch between the inputs and things.
I’m going to keep my monitor, so I have it setup with dual monitors, which is totally sweet. I’m not usre about the setup of it though, because the laptop screen is lower than the desktop screen. It’s a little weird, but I think I can get used to it. If not, I’ll build a little stand to rest the laptop on to raise the screen up.
