Tom’s Crazy Theory #2

Theory #2:  Time Travel.  Tom says:
Time travel isn’t possible.  Time is made up by man to give order to our lives.  Since time is made up, it’s not real, and you can’t travel through something that doesn’t really exist.

Bombs away.

  • Time’s not made up. Some force makes sure things always go in one direction. It never goes backwards. You never know what’s going to happen before it does. Smashed vases don’t get sucked back together and come up into your hand. An invisible force makes things fall, we call it gravity and no one has successfully defied it ever. An invisible force makes things go forward, we call it time and no one has successfully defied it ever. If time doesn’t exist than neither does gravity. I win.

  • Haha, Josh and I just got around to reading this, I guess.

Ask your buddy about circadian rhythyms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circadian_rhythm

Living organisms have internal clocks that are set to about 24 hours for ideal functioning. Humans are around 25 hours for a full circadian rhythym, if I remember my sleep chapter from cognative psych. I remember an experiment (totally not ethical) where some people were put in a lightless cave and told to just figure out time on their own. Their circadian rhythyms got all messed up (because light dictates how our internal clocks work) and they ended up going over 18 hours in between eating, sleeping for 20 hours on end. They were pretty crazy when the experiment ended. Our bodies understand time, whether we assign it or not.
