Is it just me or did the whole Immigration topic pop up right after the whole NSA spying on American people thing? Was there something that happened with immigration that brought it about suddenly?
You have to love blogging. The president is talking and I can take notes and make commentary as he does it. Here’s what I think about selected topics.
2008 – 6000 border patrol increase, 6000 national guard right now reduced over time. – I think this totally isn’t needed. Why all of a sudden do we need 6000 more bodies on the border? Did something change in the last year? Immigrants have been coming into America for years, everyone knows it, but was content with not doing much about it. What changed?
Technology on the border. – The Presidents wants all sorts of technology on the border, motion sensors and the works. What’s wrong with a good old fashioned wall? It kept the freaking Mongols out of China, it can probably keep Mexicans out of America. Plus, it would be a whole lot cheaper and easier to maintain than a technological surveillance mesh.
It’s funny how he mentions not exploiting people’s fear, yet he did the exact same thing during the election with 9/11 and terrorism and everything.
